How can I Record and Send Demos and Screenshots ?

What are demos and screenshots?
A demo is like recording a movie of the game.
A screenshot is like taking a still photograph of the game.

When should i use a demo and when should i use a screenshot?
A demo is the only way to prove that someone is hacking.
A screenshot is good for capturing bad language and most importantly steam ids.

How do i record a demo?
To record a demo while in game bring up your console by pressing the "~" key.
Type "record demoname" (without the quotes) with demoname being whatever you want the demo to be called.
(Usually the name of the person you are recording.)
You can then press the "~" key again to close the console and watch the game.
USE THE FIRST PERSON VIEW !!!!!!
Type status in console, this can allow us to see all the player's STEAM ID.
When you are done recording bring up the console again and type "stop".

How do i take a screenshot?
To take a screenshot the default key is F5.

***If you are reporting somebody always remember to get a screenshot of their STEAM ID. You can do this by opeing the console and typing "status" and then "snapshot" and then closing the console.

Where are the files saved?
If you are playing 1.6 the demo or screenshot will be saved in this folder- C:\\Valve\Steam\Steamapps\YourName\Counterstrike\Cstrike
If your are playing CZ the demo or screenshot will be saved in this folder- C:\\Valve\Steam\Steamapps\YourName\ConditionZero\Czero

How do i send the files?
To email the file you can just send it as an attachment. If the file is large you might need to compress it using Winzip or Winrar.
You can do a google search to find these programs.
With winrar installed all you have to do is right-click on the file and then choose "add to archive" and it will make a compressed copy in the same folder that the original is in.
Using your email program add the compressed file as an attachment and send it to the appropriate Standardization Admin.

How do I play the demo?
To play the demo, start the game, then go in the console and use one of the following commands - "viewdemo <demoname>" or "playdemo <demoname>", where <demoname> is the name of the demo file stored in the above folder. For example if you recorded a demo using "record wiedzmin" command, then the demo name will be "wiedzmin.dem" and you can play it using "viewdemo wiedzmin" command.
